Miami's flat yards sit on sand and porous caliche between Biscayne Bay and the Everglades, where summer thunderstorms drench the ground and St. Augustine lawns thin out under shade, heat and chinch bugs. Your backyard is either a block-walled haven behind a Mediterranean Revival or CBS ranch home, a condo balcony high above Brickell, or a postage-stamp lot in Kendall or Doral where every square foot counts. Artificial grass works in Miami because it drains, it survives the heat, and it stays green through the dry season and the storms.
Miami Turf Installation has been installing artificial grass and synthetic turf in Miami and the surrounding areas since 2013. We work on residential yards, dog runs, putting greens, pool decks, patios, balconies and rooftops across the city. We know the soil, the drainage rules, the HOA front-yard restrictions that govern Coral Gables and Miami Shores, and how to spec a turf product that will hold up to daily sun and salt air. When your lawn has died, your dog's run has turned to mud, or you need a yard ready for a sale or a move-in, call us at (786) 744-5371 for a free on-site estimate.
Artificial Grass Installation in Miami (33131)
Miami's yards face a specific set of challenges. The ground is sand and caliche, which drains fast but offers no grip for a turf base unless it is compacted properly and built up with the right stone and infill. Summer heat bakes the ground and reflects off pool decks and stucco walls. Full sun exposure on a south or west-facing yard means the turf surface will get hot, and we address that honestly with cooling infill, shade orientation, and product selection. Many Miami neighborhoods, especially Coral Gables, Miami Shores and the gated communities in Doral and Cutler Bay, have HOA rules that govern front-yard turf color, pile height, edging and how much of the yard can be turfed. We help you prepare HOA submittals, though approval is the HOA's call, not ours.
Your yard may have a dying St. Augustine lawn, an old artificial turf that is lifting at the seams or melting from window reflections, or bare ground where a lawn conversion has already begun. Dogs and kids wear the turf hard, and we choose face weight and infill to handle that traffic. Pool decks and patios need turf that drains quickly and won't trap heat or odor. Side yards and tight access are common in Miami's older neighborhoods, and we plan for the turf rolls and base material to fit through the space we have. Since 2013, we have installed turf on residential yards, pet areas, putting greens, commercial properties and sports courts across Miami and the surrounding areas.

How a Job Works in Miami
We start with a free on-site visit to your property in Miami or the surrounding area. We measure the space, look at the sun exposure, drainage and soil, check for irrigation lines and low-voltage lighting that may be buried, and talk through what you want the turf to do. If your yard has an HOA, we discuss what the front-yard rules allow and what a submittal will need to show. We give you a written estimate with the turf product, face weight, pile height, infill type and pounds per square foot, base depth and compaction method, and the total price.
When you say yes, we schedule the work. If there is old turf or a dead lawn, we remove it first, usually at a per-square-foot rate. We then grade the ground, check drainage and fix any low spots or water problems. We lay a compacted stone base, typically four to six inches, depending on the site and the turf product. We then unroll the turf, seam it if the area is larger than a single roll, nail or screw the perimeter, and brush in the infill. For pet areas and high-traffic zones, we may add a second layer of infill or use a heavier face weight. We clean up all debris, haul away old material, and walk the finished yard with you to confirm the job is done right.
Artificial grass installation in Miami ranges from $8 per square foot for basic residential turf to $18 per square foot for vertical grass walls. Pet turf and dog runs start at $10 per square foot because they need higher face weight and durable infill. Putting greens start at $15 per square foot. Pool surrounds and patio turf start at $9 per square foot. Removal of old turf or lawn conversion starts at $2 per square foot. A typical 400-square-foot backyard runs $3,200 to $3,600 installed, depending on whether old turf has to come out and whether the base needs extra depth for drainage. A 1,000-square-foot yard runs $8,000 to $10,000. The main cost factors are the area, the turf product and face weight you choose, the infill type and weight, the base depth and compaction required for your soil and drainage, what has to be removed first, and access for the turf rolls and a plate compactor. Call us at (786) 744-5371 for a free estimate. We will measure your yard, spec the product in writing, and give you a firm price before we start.
